Steve Cummings (Gold medal winner at UCI World Track Cycling Championships and Commonwealth Games, Olympic bronze medal winner and professional rider for Team Sky) heard about our ride and sent the following message of good luck and support…

“217km with 3700m climbing would be a very difficult day at the tour de France for the best cyclist’s in the world. A really tough challenge, for a fantastic cause.

good luck and enjoy it when you can”

thanks a lot for the message Steve and good luck with the rest of your season…

Stage 3 winner Volta ao Algarve, Feb 2011

The photo above was from earlier this year when Steve claimed the yellow jersey following his excellent victory in stage 3 of the Volta aoAlgarve, edging out Tejay Van Garderen and Alberto Contador in the process.

Mitchells have done a fantastic job with our sponsored T-shirts, they show the logo off really well and also include all the contact details as well as the names & logos of all our sponsors.

very professional !

When we called in at Mitchells last week to pick them up Dave insisted on a few snaps for their web site.  Nell and Erin weren’t too impressed though and as you can see they were bored and just wanted to go home and watch Mr Tumble!

A sponsored car would be nice.

Nell and Erin looking very uninterested !

Thanks once again to Mark, Jackie & everyone at Mitchells and to Brian & Steve at SL Embroidery for producing the t-shirts.

I got a call today from the allergy specialist Nell saw last week. The blood test results have confirmed that she definitely has got a nut allergy.  We’ve got to go back in 10 days for a proper chat to discuss the future and she also wants to arrange similar tests for Erin.

No more bacon butties or cake at Llandegla when we go out on the bikes!

After so much training it was nice to get out on a social ride so on Saturday I went to Llandegla with the CCM riders.  When I woke up I was feeling a bit knackered so it was my intention just to do the Blue route but as the ride went on I felt really good and ended up doing the Red.  Despite riding a fully rigid single speed bike I managed a good pace which pleased me because I put it down to all the training.  Some good post-ride banter and food made for an excellent day.
